OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow Domodedovo Airport monthly sums up results of the most punctual airlines contests. The winners in eight different categories (depending on the flights frequency and the passenger traffic) in March are Transaero Airlines, Ural Airlines, Saratov Airlines, airline Severstal, Lufthansa, British Airways, AZAL, Aegean Airlines.

Transaero Airlines won in the first category and operated 1599 flights on-time flights. Ural Airlines became the leader in the second category and operated 409 flights without delays. Saratov Airlines headed the third contest category and had 119 flights exactly according to schedule. Airline Severstal with 12 on-time flights won in the fourth category.

The most punctual foreign airlines are Lufthansa (the fifth category, 154 flights), British Airways (the sixth category, 80 on-time flights), AZAL (the seventh category, 58 flights without delays) and Aegean Airlines (the eights category, 20 flights according to schedule).

The most punctual airlines contest was organized by Moscow Domodedovo Airport over 5 years ago. Since that time the number of Russian and foreign airlines-partners increased by more than one third. As of mid-April 2013 from Domodedovo 81 airlines operate flights to 240 domestic and international destinations, 79 destinations out of them are unique for the Moscow region.

On-time takeoff and landing operations is a key factor of efficient partnership between airlines and airport. It is not only a guarantee of air travelers satisfaction but also a significant competitive position of airline and airport. Strict adherence to schedule is a priority for any air carrier that’s why a win in the most punctual airlines contest held by Domodedovo is the essential result for airlines.
