OREANDA-NEWS. Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. announces that as part of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary in August 2015 of the Company’s establishment, Toyo Tires will build a new head office building in Itami, Hyogo Prefecture, and will relocate Company headquarters next to its Tire Technical Center on the same anniversary date.

In order to reinforce the global growth of its strategic businesses and create more agile management through speedier decision making, Toyo Tires is currently focused on centralizing its management functions so as to promote closer coordination. Having integrated Tokyo head office functions into Osaka in May 2012, the Company plans to open a new R&D center in Kawanishi, Hyogo Prefecture in November of this year.

The new management team inaugurated at the end of March 2013 has established a management theme of “boosting corporate strength and sustained, innovative, continuous growth,” and the relocation of headquarters is positioned as a critical foundation for further solidifying the Company’s corporate strength.

The new headquarters will be built on a vacant lot on the site of Toyo Tires’ Tire Technical Center (Itami, Hyogo Prefecture), which will place it adjacent to the Company’s technology development center. Moreover, the headquarters will be only about a 20-minute drive from the R&D center in Kawanishi, which means that Toyo’s headquarters, tire technology development center and R&D center will all be located within close proximity of one another.

Itami in Hyogo Prefecture is favored in terms of both geographical conditions and convenience of commuter access. Toyo Tires operated a plant in this city from 1953 to 1998, and with the relocation of its headquarters to mark the 70th anniversary of the Company’s founding, Toyo Tires will further boost the Company’s internal unity and mobility as it aims to achieve sustainable, innovative growth.
