IT Leaders Discuss Workplace Diversity
OREANDA-NEWS. Information technology leaders from General Motors, Ford and Chrysler are collaborating on the best practices to attract and retain women to careers in IT. In a rare gathering of the three CIOs from the automakers, they shared tactics to increase the number of women choosing science and technology fields.
“IT is growing fast, especially in Michigan,” said Maru Flores, president of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology, which hosted Monday’s event. “It’s events like these that keep the MCWT mission of growing and inspiring women in technology at the cutting edge, and create the awareness of how diversity fuels innovation and competitiveness.”
