OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2013. On the data of regions, sowing of spring crops was finished on over 2 mln hectares, that is 75% from the plan. In whole, the sowing campaign is held in all Ukraine’s regions and in 8 regions it was completed. For holding spring field works the agrarians are ensured with necessary materials. This was informed by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk in his statement during An Hour of Questions to the Government in the Parliament.

 “For now sowing is conducted almost in all the regions of Ukraine, while in 8 regions the sowing campaign has been completed. Sowing of early grain and leguminous crops has been made on over 2 million hectares, which is 75% from the planned showings. In order to hold the field campaign in short terms in regions there were elaborated productive schedules, equipment operates in two shifts. Moreover, the agrarians are provided with necessary material and technical resources,” Mykola Prysyazhniuk underlined.

 In addition, the Minister informed that on operative data of regions 99.6% of areas of winter crops are in good and satisfied conditions. Around 500 thousand hectares are expected to re-sow. Last year 1.8 million hectares were re-sown.

“Nowadays weakened through unfavorable weather conditions crops are nurtured. Agriculturalists possess all necessary resources for that. So, firstly in the times of independence there were accumulated 1.2 million tons of fertilizers in economies. And it is by 15% more against last year’s showings. The work in nurturing was completed by economies of 9 regions and Crimea,” Mykola Prysyazhniuk noted.
