Amonatbank Reports on Pension through Banking Cards Project
OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2013. Transition to the new banking services, introducing new advanced types of activities, provision of transparency and simplification of paperwork is one of the main goals of the Management of Amonatbank and its personnel.
Implementation of the mechanism on payment of pension through banking cards was started conjointly with the Ministry of labor and social protection of the population within the framework of “Pension through banking cards” and certain steps has been taken towards successful realization of the project. Since launching the project the number of pensioners who use banking cards reached 206 thousand in 15 towns and districts (Dushanabe, Kulyab, Kurgantube, Nurek, Vahdat, Yavan, Tursunzade, Khujand, Isfara, Istiqlol, Istaravshan and Khorog) and in the 4th round of the project this number will reach 308 thousand. A total number of payment terminals installed throughout the country amounts to 246 units and in the current year Amonatbank intends to purchase and install 230 more terminals.
With that end in view lately a number of significant works have been completed, such as: launching banking cards program, complete transition to the modern specialized technology, training of staff in compliance with International standards, and commencement and regulation of pension payment through banking cards. Today Amonatbank started the 4th round of “Pension through banking cards” Program in the course of which the pensioners of the following towns and districts will be provided and served though the cards: Dangara, Sarband, Jilikul, Bokhtar, Khuroson, Ragun, Rasht, Gissar, Rudaki, Chkalovsk, Kairakum and Vanch (12 towns and districts with 102 thousand pensioners).
On the day of commencement of this round Amonatbank’s Chairperson Ms. Gulnora Hasanova, her Deputy Mr. Abdumanon Saidov and Management of Amonatbank’s Branch №42 in Khatlon region took part in official ceremony of handing banking cards to the pensioners of Dangara district and had informal meeting and talks with them. According to the information received from Heads of responsible Departments of Amonaytbank, 9455 banking cards that were delivered to Dangara pensioners were issued by the Processing Center of the National Bank of Tajikistan and the needed number of payment terminals are already installed in the district. Establishment of the National Processing Center is initiated by National Bank of Tajikistan and this reliable and effective payment system will contribute to development of financial system of the country, provide for effective usage of financial sources and guarantee timely clearance between legal entities.
The Management and subdivisions of Amonatbank alongside with their direct obligations also carry out explanatory work and give clarifications on correct way of using banking cards by disseminating booklets, putting information on the billboards, by advertising it on media and participating on TV Shows dedicated to this issue. Out of Amonatbank’s staff there organized a team which continuously meets and answers the questions and inquiries of the population.
