OREANDA-NEWS. The 6th Conference of the National FSC Working Group was held in Moscow. Ilim Group, represented at the Conference by Ilya V.Verveiko, the Company's Deputy Director Forest Strategy, acted as the primary sponsor of the event. Ilya V.Verveiko participated in the discussions centered around confidence building for FSC system and improvement of certification quality in Russia, took part in various round tables, such as 'Russian National Forest Management Standard: key points regarding revision', 'Harmonization of certification and legislative requirements. National forest policy', and moderated the round table discussion regarding intensive forest management and certification.

The Conference of the National Working Group is a supreme management body of the FSC system in Russia which holds its meetings every three years. Decisions adopted by the Conference will serve as a basis for FSC Russia development for the next 3 years. The Conference was attended by members of FSC Russia (45 companies and individuals), representatives of state authorities etc. This year the event welcomed about 100 participants from the leading business companies, environmental and social enterprises.
