OREANDA-NEWS. April 19, 2013. This forecast was sounded by Director General of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technologies Sergiu Sitnic at press conference.

According to him, the growth will be formed by the 3 percent bigger incomes in the market of mobile communications; by 15 percent bigger incomes on the internet fixed access and data transmission; by 12 percent greater incomes from transmission and retransmission of audio visual programs and by 8 percent less incomes on the fixed communications market.

This year providers of electronic communications services will focus on diversifying a range of their services and improving their quality, as well as elaborating more attractive offers, including 4G/LTE and multi-play ones, ANRCETI experts say. In 2012 the sale volume in the sector of electronic communications (mobile and fixed communications, internet access, data transmission, audio-visual programs transmission and retransmission included) grew 3.16% as compared with the growth by 1.3% in 2011 and made up MDL 6 billion 416.1 million.

The biggest incomes came from the mobile communications market and the fixed communications market, making MDL 3 billion 732.9 million (3.39% up) and MDL 1 billion 546.1 million (6.13% down) respectively.

Incomes from the Internet fixed access and data transmission were MDL 808.1 million (19.16% up), incomes from audiovisual programs transmission and retransmission being MDL 329 million (15.85% up). In 2012 investments in the sector declined 3.75% to 1 MDL billion 734 million. Investments made by major providers - Moldtelecom, Orange Moldova and Moldcell – totalled over 95% of a total amount of money invested in the sector.
