OREANDA-NEWS. On Friday, April 19, the Day of Government will take place in the Parliament. Besides, on the initiative of opposition factions there will be considered an issue about responsibility of the Government for the social and economic state in the country. This was informed by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov in his opening statement for the Government.

“I want that people could understand: opposition has set this question not because of concern for the fate of the country. We can see this is due to one thing: fight for the president post which opposing leaders have already started. So, the logic of their behaviour is primitive and cynical: “the worse is the better”. It is a destructive position,” Mykola Azarov stressed.

According to him, presidential elections will start in the fixed by the Constitution term but not when opposition wishes. “Today’s false start of the opposition has a zero result,” the head of Government is convinced.

Moreover, the Prime Minister underlined that leaders of the opposition stubbornly refuse to take responsibility for that extremely complicated environment for the country which they created being at power in 2008-2009, nevertheless they have conscience to ask how the Government overcomes barriers to the development.

“It is them who signed an agreement with IMF and obliged to raise tariffs for the population, carry out the pension reform. And now they are trying to place the blame on us. It is them who took and aimlessly spent the money and now they are trying to place the blame that the state returns their debts,” Mykola Azarov emphasized and added: “We have what to tell to the people of Ukraine instead. The Government is always ready to report”.

He accented that during the three years the Cabinet of Ministers had been maintaining macroeconomic stability - even without assistance of the International Monetary Fund. So, the Government has managed to achieve however not such considerable but certain growth of economics and it happened under conditions of overall European recession.

The Premier explained that for the three years the national currency had been stable, none lost anything in bank deposits. In the countries of the European Union the social standards are shortened in reality, but over this time we, for instance, have raised salaries 18 times in sequence. And recently the Government has approved another decision on raise of pensions from March 1. Hospitals, schools, kindergardens and accommodation are built in the number which exceeds much more the volumes of objects built for the previous twenty years.

“Who has eyes can see and realize: our huge country cannot be completely rebuilt for the three years. There exist a lot of things which cause fair complaints of citizens. People complain on many things which in our country complicate their life. They voice complaints to the Government, however, not everything is regulated by us in the market economics. But how else it can be: who will protect interests of our citizens if not the authorities?” Mykola Azarov said.
