OREANDA-NEWS. Members of the Hefei Economic Rim agreed to work together on the development of transportation infrastructure, industries, culture and tourism as well as talent cultivation.

The decision was made at the fourth meeting of government officials of the region, held in Tongcheng from April 15 to 16.

Hefei Economic Rim consists of Hefei, capital of Anhui province, and four of its neighbors: Huainan, Lu'an, Dingyuan and Tongcheng.

Four agreements were signed at the meeting, covering a wide range of fields ranging from transportation facilities to culture and tourism.

According to the documents, new expressways will link Hefei with Lu'an and Huainan, while the Hefei-Anqing Expressway via Tongcheng will be renovated. In addition, there will be fast access roads running from each city to the Hefei Xinqiao Airport, together with intercity rail services.

Hefei and Tongcheng will jointly set up an industrial park, so will Hefei and Dingyuan, the agreements said.

Officials present at the meeting also pledged to promote tourist attractions including the Chaohu Lake, Mountain Dabie and Mountain Bagong, adding that an all-purpose card will be introduced to allow holders to travel throughout the region at discounted prices.

Furthermore, a system for personnel exchange and training is set to be created in the rim. Under the system, outstanding Party and government officials will rotate around the region, professionals will be exchanged and a talent pool will be shared among cities, according to the agreements.
