Sechin Reports to Putin on Rosneft Activity in Far East
OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2013. Igor Sechin, Rosneft President and Chairman of the Management Board, made a working trip to Sakhalin Region.
During the visit to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Igor Sechin together with other Rosneft managers as well as managers from ExxonMobil Development, STX and United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) took part in the video conference held by Russian President Vladimir Putin from the city of Ulan-Ude. Igor Sechin informed Vladimir Putin of the Company’s offshore projects as well as the project for LNG facility construction in Sakhalin jointly with ExxonMobil Development. Neil Duffin, head of ExxonMobil Development, confirmed the company’s commitment to make considerable investments in the project and mentioned that the two companies continue to cooperate in the Arctic and in the Black Sea region. The president of the Korean shipbuilding company STX Dok Su Kan reported on joint projects with USC, particularly on the construction of a dockyard ‘Zvezda’ in the Far East.
Rosneft President also held a meeting with the region’s governor Alexander Khoroshavin and signed a supplement to the cooperation agreement between Rosneft and the Sakhalin region government. The supplement envisages fail-safe aviation fuel supply system at Khomutovo airport, implementation of Okhinsk thermal power plant reconstruction and modernization project, possibility of subsidiary distribution company creation in order to expand fuel stations network and study of hydrocarbon refining projects in the Sakhalin region. The supplement also envisages Rosneft participation in the program of residential buildings construction in 2013-2015 with a total amount of investments exceeding 150 million rubles.
As part of the visit Igor Sechin also held a working meeting with the management of a subsidiary company RN-Sakhalinmorneftegaz.
