OREANDA-NEWS.  Argentina plans to buy three Mil Mi-17 helicopters from Russia in addition to two choppers of this type it has already bought, said the leader of the Rosoboronexport delegation to the LAAD Defense & Security international exhibition in Rio de Janeiro.

"We have supplied two Mi-17 helicopters for Argentina. By the way, they are performing successfully in Antarctica. That country is planning to buy another three helicopters," Sergei Ladygin told reporters at the show.

Moreover, Argentina "is showing interest in the construction of an icebreaker" as it is actively exploring the Antarctic, and is interested in Russian air defense systems and Russian offroader vehicles, he said.
