OREANDA-NEWS. April 17, 2013. The 9th Arbitration Appeal Court dismissed appeals of “Dubki” Meat Plant” Ltd., “Kamyshinski Kolbasy Solovyova” Ltd., “Gatchinsky” Meat Integrated Plant” Ltd., “Safonovomyasoproduct” OJSC and “Povolzhsky Trading House” Ltd., confirming legitimacy and reasonableness of FAS decision.

In April 2012, FAS found that bidders at an open auction for supplies of food products for the needs of the Ministry of Defence, the Federal Service of Protection of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Interior in 2009 were engaged in a bid-rigging cartel aimed at allocating lots and maintaining prices at the maximum high level (in breach of Clause 2 Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”).

“20 companies took part in a cartel, including the largest Russian producers of meat products. FAS imposed turnover fines over the guilty companies over 30 million Rubles, the heads of these companies can be held criminally liable”, said the Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department, Alexander Kinyov.
