OREANDA-NEWS. April 16, 2013. A one-day working trip to Ukraine of First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Volodymyr Semashko took place.  In the course of his visit there were held negotiations with First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov in a tete-a-tete and enlarged format.

Among the topics for discussion were growth of bilateral trade and new large scale cooperation projects in the areas strategically important for the economics of the two states, such as energy, transport and agriculture. In the course of meeting both parties confirmed readiness to stir up cooperation in the direction of machine building and joint realization of production on the markets of third countries. It was agreed to hold in May the 22-nd sitting of bipartite intergovernmental commission chaired by deputy heads of governments.

A peculiar point of the agenda was removal of trade barriers existing along certain directions of bilateral cooperation. The sides agreed to solve urgent issues in a constructive manner, which appears a characteristic feature of relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus.

In particular, the interlocutors agreed a visit of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhniuk to Belarus to be held with an aim to settle problem issues and to finalize preparation of projects of bilateral cooperation in agrarian and agro-industrial areas.
