OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2013. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution “On order of use of funds in 2013 envisaged in the State Budget of Ukraine for realization of measures in legalization of computer programs in executive authorities”. This was informed by a Vice Prime Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko.

“It creates a necessary legal mechanism of launch of a process, which appears an integral part of implementation of our international commitments in the direction of intellectual property rights protection,” he emphasized.

The Vice Prime Minister reminded that for long use in authority bodies of unlicensed software was the subject to critics of Ukraine on the part of the United States of America and other foreign partners, who expect from our country resolute steps in the direction of fight against violation of copyright infringement.

“It means apart from legalization of software used in executive authority bodies also taking measures concerning improvement of a system of collection and distribution of copyright royalties and also significant activization of combating sales of counterfeit video and audio disks and Internet piracy,” Kostyantyn Gryshchenko explained. 

“Development of national IT-industry, improvement of the investment climate and image of Ukraine in the world are all those crucial tasks, which are directly joined with establishing order in the area of protection of intellectual property rights,” the Vice Prime Minister accented.
