OREANDA-NEWS. Hail Governor Prince Saud bin Abdulmohsin bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the High Commission for the Development of Hail Region and Chairman of the Hail Rally Organizing Committee, honored the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) for once again participating in the nine-day Hail International Rally 2013 as the Diamond Sponsor. SABIC, represented by Abdullah Al-Fawaz, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, received an honorary plaque at the closing ceremony of the rally on March 28.

Commenting on SABIC’s continued support for the rally, Mohamed Al-Mady, SABIC Vice Chairman and CEO said, “Our sponsorship of the rally year after year demonstrates our strong emphasis on the social dimension to business. SABIC is fully supportive of the initiatives being\ taken by the High Commission for the Development of Hail Region to promote tourism for the economic wellbeing of the region.”

In this regard, Al-Mady praised the efforts being made by Hail Governor Prince Saud bin Abdulmohsin bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the High Commission for the Development of Hail Region and Chairman of the Hail Rally Organizing Committee. These efforts have yielded positive outcomes for the local tourism industry and have resulted in a strong influx of tourists from inside and outside Saudi Arabia. They have led to the Hail rally being recognized as an international sports event, reaching global standards. The rally has also had a positive spillover effect for the regional economy, creating new job opportunities, he said.

“SABIC is very much part of the Kingdom’s story of accomplishments. We are committed to contributing in our own way to the success of the rally and making it live up to the worthy name of its host country – Saudi Arabia,” he said.

The rally is organized by the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation under the overall direction of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). Besides being a popular rally for auto racing fans, the event also features several cultural and recreational programs on the sidelines.
