Gazprom Neft Becomes Designated Fuel Supplier for 5 Air Force Bases
OREANDA-NEWS. Gazpromneft Aero, the operator of Gazprom Neft’s aviation fuel business, has become the designated aviation fuel supplier for five more airbases of the Russian Ministry of Defense, including bases in Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad Oblast, Ulyanovsk Oblast, Zabaikalsky Krai, and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. Thus, the number of airbases serviced by Gazpromneft Aero has increased to 28.
The company plans in 2013 to acquire over 20 modern aircraft refueling trucks that comply with international aviation fuel supply standards and have an all-weather aircraft fuelling capability. In 2012, 49 new Gazpromneft Aero aircraft refueling trucks began operating at airbases of the Russian Air Force, and 16 modern fuel quality control laboratories were built. Gazprom Neft Aero has already invested a total of over 1 billion rubles in modernizing the aviation fuel infrastructure of MOD airbases.
Gazpromneft Aero has been operating at airbases since 2011. Company specialists receive and store aviation fuel, condition it prior to fueling, and conduct wing-tip fueling of aircraft. The fuel is subjected to laboratory quality control before each fueling operation.
“The modernization of the aviation fuel infrastructure at airbases and the quality guarantees for the products supplied enable us to expand our cooperation with the Russian Air Force. We will continue creating new fueling complexes that meet international aviation fuel supply standards at Ministry of Defense airbases,” said Gazpromneft Aero CEO Vladimir Yegorov.
