OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2013. One of the large scale projects with applying Japanese technologies is technical re-equipment (replacement of movable stock of existing patrol cars) by vehicles with hybrid propulsion in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (MIA).

This was informed by Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Oleh Proskuryakov at a press conference. He informed that in the framework of GIS projects there were purchased 1220 hybrid Toyota Premio cars to the tune of UAH 380.7 mln for MIA employees.

According to the Minister, first five hybrid cars have already been transported to Ukraine and by the end of September all 1220 cars must be received, so all MIA cars will be replaced with the new ones then. “If a usual car used in MIA nowadays consumes 12-14 liters per hundred kilometers and respectively it causes CO2 emissions, the new cars will consume around 3-4 liters per hundred kilometers which will significantly improve the environmental situation,” Oleh Proskuryakov emphasized.
