OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2013. The handling turnover of fertilizers, agriculture products and oil products has achieved the most rapid growth.

The new cargo handling record was registered in Klaipeda Seaport – the cargo handling turnover in March of 2013 reached even 3,71 mln. tn. i.e. more by 24,4 pct. or by 726,9 thou. tn. comparing with the  corresponding period of 2012.

The aggregate throughput of Klaipeda Seaport and Butinges terminal in March of the current year was 4,51 mln. tn, i.e., more by 22,4 pct. or by 825,4 thou. tn year-on-year.

- Fertilizers (1 325,1 thou. tn were handled, +67,0 pct. or +531,8 thou. tn yoy);

- agriculture products (318,0 thou. tn were handled, +224,1 pct. or +219,9 thou. tn yoy) including:

grain (217,5 thou. tn were handled; the yoy change was   +192,9 pct. or +143,2 thou. tn),
soy meal (the yoy growth constituted 7,3 times or +49,8 thou. tn, 57,6 thou. tn were handled)

- and oil products (952,3 thou. tn were handled, +21,3 pct. or +167,2 thou. tn yoy) were the categories of cargo that have made the greatest impact on cargo handling turnover in March of  2013.

March of 2013 saw a significant drop down in peat handlings – 16,1 thou. tn (-66,7 pct. or -32,1 thou. tn yoy).
