OREANDA-NEWS. April 10, 2013. TISCO developed a whole set of specific process technology to produce quality axle steel, EA4T. The product produced by the process technology reached the internationally advanced level. Comparing with the similar products at home and abroad, it has the creative features of high cleanliness of the steel and good strength and toughness.
   
Axle is the important moving part of railway vehicle, its quality directly relates with the railway transportation safety. Therefore, all the countries in the world worked out strict requirements for the axle steel of the railway vehicles. TISCO is the largest axle steel producer in China and its market share is top one in China. The product has a certain brand influence and the strong international competitiveness in the international market.
 
EA4T axle steel is widely used in producing the axles for EMU and high-power locomotives at abroad. It is also the steel specified by EN 13261 for producing the axles of high speed passenger cars. TISCO began to develop the axle steel from 2004 in order to enrich the product mix and improve international competitiveness. Till now more than 10 axle steel grades, including EA4T, have been developed successfully. The products are exported to USA, Germany, France, Republic of Korea and India and so on.   
 
The successful development of the quality axle steel grades greatly improved the R&D and manufacturing level of the axle steel in TISCO, promoted the development of the related industries such as axle forging, hot working and heat treatment.
