Belarus Raises Retail Prices for Certain Cigarette Brands by 0.6%-8.9%
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus is raising retail prices for cigarette brands on April 1, 2013, the Tax Ministry of Belarus said in a statement posted on the ministry’s official web site.
Retail prices of Viceroy brand cigarettes (produced by OJSC Grodno Neman on a licence from British-American Tobacco Trading Company) will go up by 0.6% to Br7,850 (USD 0.91 at the official rate of Belarus’ central bank), Pall Mall brand cigarettes – up 0.6% to Br7,950 (USD 0.92) per pack.
Neman’s NZ brand cigarettes are now priced at Br4,600 (USD 0.53).
Retail prices of Korona (Crown) and Korona Golubaya (Blue Crown) go up by 5.3% to Br4,950 (USD 0.57) per pack.
The new price of Korona Stil (Crown Style) is Br4,700 (USD 0.55, up 2.2%); Korona Elit (Crown Elite) all manufactured by Tabak Invest tobacco factory – up 2.2% to Br4,600 (USD 0.53)
Retail prices of home-made Fort brand cigarettes will go up by 8.9% to Br4,900 (USD 0.57 at the official rate of Belarus’ central bank).
The prices of other brand cigarettes have remained unchanged.
The latest increase in tobacco prices was registered on Match 1, 2013, when the price of Fort cigarettes grew 4.7%, Korona – up 2%, Monte Carlo – up 0.6%.
