PowerJet Signs SaM146 Engine Maintenance Contract with Sky Aviation
OREANDA-NEWS. Sky Aviation, represented by Chief Executive Officer Krisman Tarigan, and PowerJet, represented by Jacques Desclaux, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, signed a 10-year "by the hour" maintenance contract on March 19, covering 24 SaM146 engines powering Sky Aviation's new Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) regional jets.
According to this contract, Sky Aviation will be covered by PowerLife™, a dedicated customer service package comprising the engine and its line replaceable units (LRU), including access to a PowerJet replacement pool. A dedicated PowerJet field representative will be assigned to Sky Aviation’s operational base at Jakarta Airport for one year.

PowerJet is the world's first manufacturer of regional jet engines to provide a single point-of-contact for all customer support and service needs concerning the complete propulsion system, including engine, equipment and nacelle.Sky Aviation, based at Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport (Jakarta, Indonesia), was established in 2010 and operates scheduled and charter flights in Indonesia. The airline is the first PowerJet customer in Southeast Asia. The airline's first SaM146-powered Superjet 100 landed at Jakarta International Airport on February 27, 2013, after being completed by Sukhoi in Ulyanovsk, Russia. It is the first of twelve SSJ100s ordered from Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) in 2011.
PowerJet, founded in July 2004, is a joint venture of Snecma (Safran) of France and NPO Saturn of Russia. The company manages the SaM146 engine program, including development, production, marketing and sales, as well as customer support and MRO services. In April 2003, the SaM146 engine was selected by Sukhoi to power its Superjet 100 regional jet.
