Living Wage Averaged 1511,9 Leis in Moldova in Q4, 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. April 03, 2013. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the increase is determined by higher prices for some goods, foods chiefly. In urban areas the substance wage averaged 1630.6 leis in Q4, 14.3% more than in rural areas, where it was 1426.8 leis.
The highest subsistence wage was that among able-bodied men and made up 1676.8 leis. It was 1303.2 for retirees, being 86.2% of the average subsistence wage for all categories of the population. The average pension in Moldova made up 957.6 leis as of January, 1, 2013, 9.6% up as compared with the same period of 2011.
Thus, the average pension was 73.5% of the average living wage for retirees. In 2011 it equalled 71.6%. The minimal living wage for children averaged 1364.3 a month, being 602 for children at the age of up to 1 year and 1578 leis for children at the age between 7 and 16 years. The average wage in the economy was 3631.3 leis in this period, 2.3 times more than the living wage.
The maximum subsistence wage coverage was registered in the finance sector (4.5 times), with the minimum one being recorded in fishery – the average salary in this sector was 31.4% higher than the subsistence wage.
Household disposable income averaged 1572.5 per month in Q4, 2012 in Moldova, 4% up as compared with minimal living wage.
