PM: Ukraine Needs New Regulations in Emergency Situations
OREANDA-NEWS. April 03, 2013. Anomalous snowfall demonstrated that Ukraine needs new regulations in emergencies. This was started by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov during a meeting with public activists who organized system of notification and liquidation of consequences of snowfall.
"We need new clear regulations of actions during the occurrence of such unusual situations. It is clearly, these regulations should provide first of all clearing snow from main roads of city," the Prime Minister said.
He said that during his visit to Hungary he was interested with the experience of snow removal in the cities of this country. In particular, there is limited traffic on certain highways to snowblower technique could work. Hungarian experience may be used in our country, the Prime Minister noted.
He said that bad weather was a real test for both government and society. He also praised the work of public activists in the struggle with the consequences of snowfall. Responsibility of citizen in emergencies is very important for operational of emergency management, the Prime Minister said.
"These difficult situations really show what one is worth, and prove that we have a real civil society, and we need to create a platform of cooperation between government and civil society," the Prime Minister said.
