OREANDA-NEWS. April 03, 2013. SGCC EVP Shu Yinbiao met with visiting REN CEO Rui Cartaxo and listened to his introduction on the work of REN last year.

The two sides explored into cooperative projects. SGID (representing SGCC) and REN signed an agreement to set up a consulting firm in Brazil.

SGCC successfully acquired a 25%-stake in REN on February 22, 2012. In the Umbrella Agreement signed with REN, it says two sides shall explore the Brazilian market together. On July 3 the same year, SGID and REN signed an MOU on establishing a consulting firm in Brazil, witnessed by SGCC President Liu Zhenya and Mr. Paulo Portas, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The joint venture will exert both its shareholders’ advantages and provide consulting services regarding grid technology, engineering design, equipment selection, and electricity regulation.
