Press Conference Held for R and D Achievements of ENFI
OREANDA-NEWS. April 02, 2013. Press Conference held for ENFI’s R&D achievements on Unmanned Electric Locomotive Transportation Technology for Underground Mine.
A Press Conference held by China ENFI Engineering Corp. (ENFI) for its R&D achievements on Unmanned Electric Locomotive Transportation Technology for Underground Mine on March 22, 2013. General Manager Wu Shaohui of ENFI made a speech at the event, and declared that this new technology independently developed by ENFI was proved to be successful. Yu Run, Senior Advisor of ENFI & Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a message at this meeting. On behalf of the industrial testing enterprise and equipment manufacturing in relation with this technology, representatives from Dongguashan Copper Mine of Anhui Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group and Hunan Xiangtan Traction Engine Co., Ltd. participated the meeting and made remarks.
The Press Conference was presided over by Vice General Manager Huang Xianghua of ENFI. The other attendees included: ENFI’s Vice Chief Engineer Liu Yuming, Vice Chief Engineer Shao Xiaogang, as well as heads from Electrical & Automation Business Dept., Mine Business Dept., Technology Development Dept. and Corporate Culture Dept.
At the meeting, Bai Guanghui, R&D Chief for the Unmanned Electric Locomotive Transportation Technology & Professor of the Electrical & Automation Business Dept., made an introduction to the new technology. Journalist from quite a few media agencies such as China Science Daily, Science & Technology Daily, China Metallurgical News, China Nonferrous Metals and China Gold News, put forward questions on several issues, for instance, R&D situation in foreign countries and China, technical features, advantages, applicable scope, reliability and stability of this technology.
The R&D Scheme of this technology was firstly formulated by ENFI in 2005, and formally put into implementation and industrial testing in Dongguashan Copper Mine of Anhui Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group in 2010. Thanks to the great efforts made by the technical staff during the past three years, various technical problems were tackled. The technology was put into trial run in the middle section at -875m of Dongguashan Copper Mine in May 2012, afterwards it passed through the acceptance inspection undertaken by Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group and put into formal commissioning in August 2012.
The Unmanned Electric Locomotive Transportation System consists of four parts, namely: intelligent unmanned frequency-conversion electric locomotive; roadway mobile wireless communication system; automatic dispatching, protection and monitoring system for electric locomotive; and power supply controlling system for transportation of electric locomotive. During the moving of the traction train unit of the electric locomotive, remote control can be achieved for the ore loading, automatic running and ore discharging.
The operating state can be displayed in the control center through wireless communication on a real-time basis. If necessary, real-time remote control can also be realized, which is very convenient for operation. This technology can be applied for the simultaneous transportation of several locomotives. Taking the actual operation in Dongguashan Copper Mine as example, after this technology is applied, the operating workers of the transportation system has been reduced from 40 persons to 8 ones, which has greatly contributed to the enhancement of transportation efficiency and reduction of the operating costs.
The application of this technology in Dongguashan Copper Mine has filled the scientific gap in this field in China and even in Asia. The successful development of this technology marks that, as a leading enterprise for design work of mines in China, ENFI has acquired outstanding professional competence and responsibility in the fields of remote control and automatic exploitation in underground mine, as well as the remarkable advantages in transforming scientific research results into productivity.
