OREANDA-NEWS. April 01, 2013. Sberbank CIB is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Urbanczyk to its international Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Division (FICC) team. Peter joins the company as Head of FICC Sales Americas, Sberbank CIB USA, Inc. and Managing Director, International FICC Sales Subdivision, Global Markets. This hire forms part of Sberbank CIB’s continued focus on strengthening its market leadership and broadening its industry capabilities.

Peter brings over 28 years of investment banking experience and joins Sberbank CIB from RBS where he was most recently a Managing Director and Head of EM Credit Sales. During this time his role included a global emerging markets mandate and covered US asset managers, hedge funds and insurance companies. Until December 2011, Peter was head of all US EM Sales including Rates, FX and Credit. Previously, Peter was head of EM Fixed Income Sales at Bear Stearns having joined the company as an EM bond trader after heading LatAm Debt trading at both Credit Lyonnais and Midland Bank. Prior to that he was an investment banker for LatAm deals at the Bankers Trust. Peter started his career as a banker in NatWest USA’s International Department.

This appointment is the latest in a number of senior hires as Sberbank CIB expands and enhances its team. Senior additions to the Global Markets team include Steven Weller who was appointed as Head of FX Trading, Managing Director, Bill Beller as Head of Equity Options Trading, Managing Director, Robert Hagon as Co-Head of Equity Sales Trading, Managing Director, and Peter Holowka as Head of E-FX, Managing Director, for Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Division.
