Companies Sell Baking Soda with Violations of Antimonopoly Law
OREANDA-NEWS. April 01, 2013. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) found that “United Trading Company” OJSC, “Kashtan M” Ltd. “Kashtan Spb” Ltd., “Selting” Ltd., “Agros 2003” Ltd., “Potok” Ltd., “SIBSOL” Trading House” Ltd., “Chelyabchimproduct” Ltd., “Stav Tris” Ltd., “Agroresurs” Ltd., and “Penza Grocery House” Ltd. violated Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.
The companies concluded “vertical” agreements that resulted in fixing the reselling prices on the market of baking soda.
The case was initiated upon documents and information obtained by FAS during unscheduled inspections and surveys of market participants operating on the market of baking soda within the geographic boundaries of the Russian Federation.
“Soda” OJSC produces nearly 100% of baking soda in Russia. From December 2010 the sales scheme began to include a new intermediary link and raised consumer prices up”, commented the Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department, Alexander Kinyov.
