OREANDA-NEWS. The delegation of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport participated in Routes Asia 2013 forum held in Mumbai, India. Within frameworks of the event, the largest airports and airlines considered viability of potential routes in the Asian region.

As a part of the forum’s programme, the airport experts conducted negotiations to launch several regular flights from Novosibirsk to the major cities of Asia. The airport reviewed prospects of opening New Delhi and Seoul routes with Air India and S7 Airlines respectively. Jointly with Hainan Airlines the experts of the Novosibirsk airport considered perspectives of resuming flights from Beijing to Novosibirsk. The airport discussed the opportunity to operate flights on Shanghai route with the above mentioned airlines as well as Air China and China Eastern Airlines. Besides, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport offered the largest Chinese passenger carriers to consider the possibility to resume flight connection with Guangzhou.

Having developed an extensive route network in India and countries of South East Asia, Bengaluru International Airport put forward an initiative to arrange connecting flights for passengers departing from Novosibirsk to these regions. Perspectives of Interline Traffic Agreements conclusion between the Asian airlines and carriers performing flights from NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport were discussed during Routes Asia as well. Due to these contracts, transfer connections via the largest Asian hubs (Hong Kong, Shanghai and others) could be organized for passengers traveling on the routes from Novosibirsk to South East Asia, Australia and North America.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers.

The World Routes Development Forum is the largest aviation forum hosting airports, airlines, equipment suppliers, investors, international and regional associations and national tourism organizations. Held since 1995, it includes four regional forums organized in Europe (Routes Regional Europe), Asia (Routes Regional Asia), Africa (Routes Regional Africa) and America (Routes Regional Americas).
