New Development of TatNIPIneft & KNITI VT Tested at UTNGP
OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2013. Testing of a device for electromagnetic water treatment to prevent formation of scale and sludge on heat transfer surfaces has been successfully completed at "Tatneftegazpererabotka" Administration.
Water treatment methods with application of chemicals in water recycling supply involves high material costs and they do not completely prevent deposits formation. For the purpose of improving performance of technologies to prevent salt deposits formation and optimizing the costs of water cleaning from scale the experts of TatNIPIneft of JSC TATNEFT jointly with JSC KNITI VT (Kazan) have developed a method of electromagnetic treatment of water.
Based on fundamental research of the mechanism and effects of electromagnetic radiation on water and aqueous media the conditions were identified under which the initiates the formation of fine crystals in the volume of water with a property not to form salt deposits on the surfaces contacting with water.
The electromagnetic water treatment device (PEOV) has been made for the method implementation, which principle of operation is based on the generation of electromagnetic radiation with a given spectrum of frequencies that affect the physical and chemical characteristics of water.
Testing of the device in the conditions of water recycling supply at the gas processing plant of "Tatneftegazpererabotka" (UTNGP) Administration has shown that the electromagnetic treatment of water allows destroying existing deposits and prevents new deposits on the heat exchange surface providing for anti-corrosive effect as well.
The unit designed has demonstrated high reliability: during the research period over one year there was no malfunction in the operation in a wide range of ambient temperatures. It should be noted that the PEOV device is rather simpler to install and does not require cutting into the pipe. The operation of the PEOV device only requires connection to the electrical power supply source and the energy consumption is minimal: 0.2 Wt • h/m3.
The special significance of the project implemented is that the proposed technology is environmentally friendly water without the use of chemicals.
