Uralmashplant Concluded Contract with Thyssen Krupp Fordertechnik
OREANDA-NEWS. Within the scope of the program for new markets development Uralmashplant concluded a contract with the world's largest designer of mining and processing equipment Thyssen Krupp Fordertechnik (Germany) for manufacture of entirely new production: equipment for the power industry. The signing was attended by JSC "Uralmashplant" represented by General Director Andrey Saltanov and Thyssen Krupp represented by Executive Vice President and Director of the mining industry, Mr. Detlef Neuhaus.
By the middle of 2014 already steel structures will be produced on the basis of engineering performed by the German company for the needs of one of the power companies in Kazakhstan. Delivery set includes steel structures for spreader, its subsystems, crushing units, conveyors and cars. This equipment will be used for rock processing.
Signing the contract was prepared in a record short time. In early autumn of 2012 a member of the Board of Directors of Thyssen Krupp, Dr. Klaus Mangold made a familiarization visit to Uralmashplant. During a tour over the plant, he noted high-speed manufacture of steel structures for spreaders of one of the Russian water power plants. In December 2012, an official delegation of Thyssen Krupp Fordertechnik on invitation of the Ural machine builders visited the Uralmashplant to have a detailed review of Uralmashplant production facilities, manufacturing capability and staff potential. At the same time basic details of the contract have been worked out. The head of Thyssen Krupp technical delegation, Bernd Binder, highly appraised UZTM potential and took a preliminary decision on implementation of a joint pilot project.
- In addition to details of the contract, we also discussed the prospects of our further cooperation, - said Andrey Saltanov. - Uralmashplant is one of the few Russian enterprises, which is able to produce high-quality equipment for various purposes using its own drawings and designs of other organizations. Now we would be able to work successfully in tandem with Thyssen Krupp at mining and processing equipment market in Russia and CIS.
Today, the production range of Uralmashplant includes equipment for power machine building - workpieces for steam turbine rotors and turbogenerators, sleeve tubes for turbogenerators, shafts and components for power equipment, discs and tyres for steam and gas turbines and compressors. But manufacture of equipment for different spreader types is a new and very promising production line for the company. The new contract will allow Uralmashplant to secure its position on this market.
