OREANDA-NEWS. NTT DOCOMO, INC. announced that it will offer a localized version of its “d game™” Japanese gaming service in China via the Mobile Market portal operated by China Mobile Communications Corporation, China’s leading mobile operator with over 700 million subscribers, beginning March 26. This will be the first time for DOCOMO to offer its “d game” mobile content service under the DOCOMO brand outside of Japan.

DOCOMO aims to capitalize on the rapidly growing demand for smartphone content in China by offering an increasing variety of localized games and various content selected for the Chinese market. Mobile Market is China’s leading portal for retail applications.

Mobile Market’s “d game” service, planned and directed by DOCOMO, will start with 20 titles, including non-game content such as wallpapers, from major Japanese developers such as CAPCOM, Konami Digital Entertainment, TECMO KOEI GAMES, SQUARE ENIX and MTI. Additional content will be added in the future. Localization was carried out in partnership with D2C China., a Chinese subsidiary of D2C, a joint venture of DOCOMO, Dentsu and NTT Advertising in Japan. Distribution is being handled under license by Guangzhou Daxiang Info-tech.

Going forward, DOCOMO intends to grow its global content business with a variety of content originally distributed through the company’s dmarket® portal in Japan, providing overseas customers with opportunities to enjoy high-quality mobile content from Japan.
