Novosibirsk International Airport Participated at ITB Berlin 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. The delegation of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport participated in ITB Berlin 2013 exhibition officially held from 6th to 10th March.
Organizedannually since 1966, the International Tourism Fair ITB Berlin is the largest travel forum which presents the whole range of trends in the sphere of modern global tourism. Participating audience of the exhibition is generally represented by air carriers, tour operators, hotel chains and airports. This year covering an area of over 160,000 m2, the ITB Berlin 2013 showroom was prepared by more than 10 thousand participating companies from 180 countries.
During the fair the experts of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport took part in presentations of tour operators’ products, highlighted the potential of launching new flights from Novosibirsk to Tel-Aviv, Seoul and Ulan Bator to air carriers. The opportunities to open new Almaty route and increase flight frequency to Tashkent and Khujand were discussed with representatives of the largest CIS airlines as well.
Development of the Russian inbound tourism taking advantage of the extensive route network of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport was emphasized at the joint stand “SIBERIA”. In collaboration with Interregional Association Sibirskoye Soglasheniye (“Siberian Accord”) our delegates made official presentation of the Novosibirsk airport transfer opportunities. Cooperation in the field of inbound tourism was discussed with the management of regional departments of the Siberian Federal District.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers.
