OREANDA-NEWS. The Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO announces the launch of a new educational programme – SKOLKOVO Practicum. Programme for directors. For the first time the SKOLKOVO business school has designed a modular programme for perspective directors who find it important to form a system of management knowledge to run small- and middle-scale business in Russia.

The story of the middle-scale business in Russia numbers about 20 years, there is an opinion that a new management wave, connected with the change of owners’ generation and division of ownership and management, is now starting in Russia. The business changes that Russia is undergoing require adaptation of knowledge and skills of modern executives. Nowadays the status of a successful manager directly depends on the scale and depth of the implemented projects and level of the executive’s management competence.

In Russia a CEO and an owner of a middle-scale business are usually two characters united in one person. In a certain stage CEOs often would like to step out of the operational management, having left the major amount of work to a responsible executing officer. The new SKOLKOVO business school’s programme provides tools to prepare a successor or a staff of directors in the intensive mode. The system of management skills forms due to business model understanding of a business model, core affection agents and their interest, methods of financial control and capital attraction.

SKOLKOVO Practicum is a programme aimed at development of practical skills, training of a personal set of tools for solutions of a business’s key challenges. During 5 months the programme’s participants will have 4 modules – business model, organizational design and management system, team and finance – as well as a through course “Individual management challenge”. That means work with a real business situation that a participant has to solve within his organization.

In the course of the programme the listeners will be able to study business cases of the most successful Russian business owners, train the strategic and operational decision making skills in the CEO role by means of business games and get recommendations from practicing professionals.
