OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2013. The President is confident that local government must use every opportunity to provide money to local budget. It was stated by the President at the meeting of the Council of Regions.

“We must complexly use all the resources at local and regional level in order to restore economic activity, develop entrepreneurship and create new jobs,” the President said. According to him, Ukraine inefficiently uses potential sources of state revenue – natural resources, land, tourism and recreation.

Viktor Yanukovych stressed that local governmental bodies underestimate the potential of municipal property, the revenue from which could become another additional source of stable income. “The search for investors in order to develop socio-cultural and economic objects is poorly organized at regional level. Investment and tourist opportunities and attractive objects are not advertised decently,” the Head of State noted.

According to the President, the purpose of the implementation of local government reform is to teach people to earn money at local level. “The more freedom the local government has in economic sphere, the more financial resources it will have for the development,” Viktor Yanukovych stressed. Also, according to the President, every community must create “investment cards” of the most attractive objects for investment.
