By Late May 55 Schools of Ukraine to Have New Computer Equipment
OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2013. All-Ukrainian conference call was held in the Building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine led by vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul, the meeting was also attended by the Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Kozak, Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services Gennadiy Temnyk, Chairman of the State Agency for Investment and National Projects Vladyslav Kaskiv and leadership of central and local executive bodies.
One of the issues considered at the meeting was devoted to the implementation of the Vіdkrytyi Svit (Open World) National Project i.e. the creation of educational information and communication network of the national level based on radio technology of fourth generation (4G).
The project is implemented in pilot schools in each region of Ukraine.
"The first phase of the Vіdkrytyi Svit National Project begins. Within the phase 55 schools of Ukraine will be provided with modern quality equipment for teachers and students," vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul said.
Vіdkrytyi Svit means the creation of educational information and communication network of the national educational level based on radio technology of fourth generation (4G). By the end of 2016 will be provide more than 20 thousand educational institutions of Ukraine with special devices that are connected to the 4G network.
Project implementation will contribute to the modernization of the education system, namely the creation of a single educational space, improving the system of education management; improve the quality and accessibility of education.
The first phase gives us the possibility to work out a model of the project, which will be extended to the territory of Ukraine.
Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul set the task to heads of regional state administrations to take the project under personal responsibility.
