Funai Corporation Received Walmart’s Supplier of Year Award
OREANDA-NEWS. Funai Corporation, a U.S. subsidiary of Funai Electric Co., Ltd., has received a Supplier of the Year Award for the consumer electronics category and a General Award for responsibility from Walmart Stores, U.S. a division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (Arkansas, US).
Walmart’s Supplier of the Year Award is given to suppliers that make a significant contribution to the growth of the company’s business and customer relationships by providing high quality, successful products.
Funai was chosen to receive this award from a pool of over 250 companies in the consumer electronics sector. This is the fourth year Funai has been named a Wal-Mart Supplier of the Year. Funai also received the award in 2002, 2004 and 2008.
Furthermore, Funai’s strong performance in producing appealing, environmentally friendly, compliant products resulted in the company being selected to receive a General Award in the category of responsibility. Funai was chosen to receive this award from a pool of over 4,000 companies in the general merchandise area. Besides responsibility, General Awards are also given for price, product, promotion, place, people, and e-commerce categories for a total of seven award types.
Walmart operates more than 4,000 Walmart discount stores and supercenters throughout the U.S. It establishes rigorous standards for quality, price and lead time to meet the needs of the 200 million customers it serves each week. Walmart’s supplier awards recognize companies that do more than satisfy the requirements of a supplier. Funai Corporation and the Funai Group started business with Walmart to establish a track record and build trust with consumers in the U.S.
Funai Electric Co., Ltd. is an integrated consumer electronics manufacturer that sells AV equipment (LCD TVs, DVD-related products etc.) and printers.
