Incomes from Sales of Data Transmission Grew 19,2% in 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2013. In 2012 a total volume of incomes from sales of data transmission and Internet fixed access services grew 19.2% to 808.1 mln. leis in Moldova. According to ANRCETI, the bulk of this sum, or over 653.4 mln. leis, was received from sales of Internet access services. In particular, incomes grew 24.2% to 563.8 mln. leis at Moldtelecom, 13% to 120.3 mln. leis at Starnet and 4.4% -to 28.3 mln. leis at Orange Moldova.
Incomes of other operators of this market grew by 5.5% and exceeded 95.7 mln. leis. Incomes received by three mobile communications providers from the sale of the access to Mobile Internet increased by 30.8% to 229.8 mln. leis in 2012, ANRCETI reports. As a result, the total value of the Internet fixed and mobile access amounted to 883.2 mln. leis.
Average Revenue per User (ARPU) made up 141.12 leis at companies providing the fixed access and 126.29 leis at providers of the mobile Internet. In 2012 there were 58 operators in the market of data transmission and fixed Internet access in Moldova.
As for sales volumes, the major player of the market, Moldtelecom, held the share market of 69.8%; the shares of Starnet and Orange Moldova making 14.9% and 3.5% respectively. The other 55 operators hold the common share of 11.8%.
