Establishing Consortium with Regards to Ukraine GTS Depends on EU
OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2013. Creating a three-side consortium regarding management of gas-transport system of Ukraine depends on the European side.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during a press conference.
“Establishing of the three-side consortium depends on the third party. We are ready, Russia is ready. And where is the third side? Our president was talking about that during his Brussels’ visit. The Government has reccurrently talked about that. Where is the support on the part of EU of the cooperation form in the spectrum of management of gas-transport consortium? We have been considering this issue for the three years already,” Mykola Azarov stressed.
He added that the time there are received definite propositions concerning the GTS topic from the EU, Ukraine will be ready to consider them with participation of the Russian party.
“Give us your propositions. When the EU addresses us with propositions we will be ready to discuss these propositions together with the Russian side. But the EU do not issue any propositions. They just say: “it is necessary to establish”. For the three years we have reached the point when it is vital to take decisions,” the Premier underlined.
In his answer to the question whether it proves an intention to establish a two-side consortium, the head of Government said: “This question will be solved when we sign a respective agreement”.
