OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2013.  Test run of speed trains of Kryukov railway car building works production will soon be completed. This was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov at a press conference.

"Now tests on the line of train of Kryukov railway car building works production come to the end, and we get the domestic high-speed train, which will take into account the peculiarities of our climate," he said.

Mykola Azarov noted that before hosted of Euro 2012, Ukraine was forced to buy Korean Hyundai, ‘cause at that time we had no domestic analogues of speed trains. The Prime Minister added that the Government is to pay attention to the modernization and development of new directions of high-speed trains on the basis of Ukrainian production.

The Prime Minister also said that the Cabinet is developing a modernization program of Ukrainian railways. "As you know, it is not enough to have a locomotive and rolling stock, which allows trains to move at a speed of over 160 kilometers per hour. We need to have railway lines that would withstand such speeds," he said.

Mykola Azarov said that the high-speed areas should have fence. According to him, the Government plans to build 17 overpasses at railway crossings with heavy traffic.
