OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2013.  VTB bank will act as the general sponsor of the 12th Moscow Easter Festival.
The music festival will run from 5 to 16 May with support from the Moscow Government, the Ministry of Culture and the Russian Orthodox Church. Director of the Mariinsky Theater Valery Gergiev is the artistic director of the festival.

VTB will be supporting the Easter music festival for the ninth consecutive year. Over the years, it has earned the well-deserved status of one of Russia’s largest high-profile music events, and a unique cultural awareness initiative. The Easter festival is expanding to more Russian regions every year, which corresponds with VTB’s business expansion, and its charitable and sponsorship activities.

The 12th Easter Festival will open a new season of the bank’s patronage of the arts. Several important events will receive VTB support this year: the 21st Music Festival Stars of the White Nights at the Mariinsky Theatre, Peter Tchaikovsky’s Onegin ballet by John Cranko at the Bolshoi Theatre, and the exhibition Natalia Goncharova: Between the West and the East at the State Tretyakov Gallery. An exhibition by Filipp Malyavin will be held at the State Russian Museum, also supported by VTB.

This year, VTB will also provide assistance in organising an open air concert of singers Dmitry Hvorostovsky and Anna Netrebko in Red Square, and the international art festival Sergey Dyagilev: Post Scriptum, as well as other major cultural projects.
