OREANDA-NEWS. KSG Agro S.A., a leading Ukrainian agricultural and food processing company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, received the results of a crops inspection performed by the international testing, inspection and certification services provider Cotecna. The inspection was performed on 87% of KSG Agro S.A.’s winter crops areas.

This year, KSG Agro’s total area sown with winter crops is more than 45,000 hectares, including 23.8 thousand hectares of wheat, 15.4 thousand hectares of rape-seed and 6.3 thousand hectares of barley. According Cotecna’s analysis, KSG Agro may expect high upcoming crop yields. The average yields of winter cereals in 2013 are expected to reach: 4.2 tons per hectare for winter wheat, 2.6 tons per hectare for winter rape-seed and 3.6 tons per hectare for winter barley.

“Currently, we own more than 92,000 hectares of land, meaning that the total area of our crops during the year increased by 40%. We are very pleased with this year’s weather conditions and the estimates we’ve received from Cotecna. According to analysis and estimations this year harvest will be higher than the average in the previous years. Also, we are implementing our key investment projects according to the schedule. Our pig breeding complex should be operational as early as in the second quarter of this year and in mid-2013 we will begin the production of pellets in our new manufacturing facility,” said Mr. Sergei Kasianov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KSG Agro S.A.
