OREANDA-NEWS. Panasonic Ecology Systems Co., Ltd. (PESES), a Panasonic group company, announced that it has built an additional motor plant on the premises of Panasonic Ecology Systems Guangdong Co., Ltd. (PESESGD), its subsidiary production company in Guangdong, China. An opening ceremony for the new plant was held on March 18, 2013.

PESES is globally expanding its business in indoor air quality (IAQ) products, including ventilation fans and air purifiers. PESESGD, the company's main plant, produces IAQ products for Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North America, and Europe as well as China. The company offers IAQ products with superior performance and excellent energy efficiency, such as its air purifiers, which have been highly appraised by the China Indoor Environment Monitoring Committee1, and its ventilation fans, which have received ENERGY STAR certification in North America.

Continuing to see the business outside Japan as a pillar of growth, the company set up a target of raising the overseas sales percentage of its IAQ business to 50% or higher. To achieve this target, the company has decided to boost the production capacity of PESESGD.

Specifically, in addition to the construction of an additional plant on the premises to manufacture motors, which are a core component of IAQ products and have a major effect on their basic performance, energy efficiency, quality, cost, etc., related equipment has also been installed in the plant with the aim of increasing production capacity to 10 million motors by the end of FY2019 (April 2018-March 2019), which is more than double the current capacity.

Panasonic will continue to globally contribute to the creation of healthy and comfortable indoor environments by offering its IAQ products with excellent energy efficiency.
