Azerbaijani Economy Increases by 3.2% in Jan-Feb, 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. Azerbaijan's GDP increased by 3.2 percent in January-February 2013 compared to the same period of last year and hit 8.344 billion manat at current prices, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said on Friday.
The GDP volume per capita has averaged 902.6 manat (USD 1.150.1).
The production of value added in the non-oil sector increased by 10.5 percent to 4.08 billion manat or 48.9 percent of GDP per year and decreased in the oil and gas sector by 2.6 percent.
The total production volume in all sectors of the economy declined by 0.4 percent reaching 5.71 billion manat or 54.6 percent of GDP compared to January-February 2012. The industrial production in the country increased by 1.3 percent - up to 5.348 billion manat. The non-oil industry increased by 3.9 percent to 1.078 billion manat. The production in the oil and gas sector reduced by 1.4 percent.
The value added was generated at 360.8 million manat in the agriculture, fisheries and forestry in January and February, which is 2.4 percent of GDP, the construction sector - 7.1 percent of GDP, trade and sphere of rendering services to the population - 7.6 percent, the transport sector - 31.8 million (6 percent), sphere of communications and information - 235.9 million manat (1.8 percent) and other areas - 13.4 percent of GDP.
