Novosibirsk Airport Officially Presented Its Catering Facility
OREANDA-NEWS. NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport officially presented its own catering facility in attendance of the governor of the Novosibirsk region Vasily Yurchenko.
Tolmachevo Catering LLC was launched as a joint project of the airport and the leading global manufacturer and operator in the field of flight catering LSG Lufthansa Service Europa/Afrika GmbH (LSG Sky Chefs). Product delivery to airlines started in December, 2012.
Having familiarized himself with the technology, Vasily Yurchenko noted that the new production in NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport created competitive conditions for flight catering industry that will have a positive effect on costs and service quality offered to airlines and passengers. “The production is organized at a high level”, underlined the governor. “This is how it should be as those strategic plans targeted at passenger traffic growth, expansion of route network, increase of flight and traffic volumes require organization of flight catering at large.”
The General Director of Tolmachevo Airport JSC Evgeniy Yankilevich emphasized that the enterprise was registered in the Novosibirsk region and its launching provided 95 jobs: “The current nominal capacity of the facility makes up 3,000 meals per day. The potential to boost daily production of the enterprise up to 5,000 meals should be viewed over the long-term. In this case, number of vacancies will rise to 130.”
Among the long-term partners of the airport catering facility there are such companies as UTair and Ural Airlines. Tolmachevo Catering LLC services are required by the freight carriers performing refueling landings in Novosibirsk as well. The airport negotiate for cooperation with the leading Russian and foreign airlines.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers and handle over 35 thousand tons of cargo and mail.
