OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus’ Finance Ministry posted a republican budget surplus of 1.2 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) (USD 139 million at the NBB rate) in January 2013, or 2.8% of GDP, an official with the Finance Ministry told.

The republican budget indicates spending and revenues of the central administration, whereas the consolidated budget also includes local budgets.

Republican budget revenues amounted to 8.3 trillion rubles (USD 961.76 billion) in January 2013, or 6.8% of the target for the whole year.

Republican budget expenditures reached 7.1 trillion rubles (USD 822.71 billion), 5.9% of the target for 2013.

Revenues from the value-added tax amounted to 6 trillion rubles (USD 695.25 million, 10.2% of the year target), from income tax – Br300 billion (USD 34.76 million, 1%), from foreign economic activities 1.3 trillion rubles (USD 150.64m), 4.5% of the target.

Revenues of the Labour and Welfare Ministry’s social security fund (SSF) are estimated at Br5.9 trillion (USD 683.66 million, 8.4%).

Tax arrears totalled Br232.8 billion (USD 26.98 million), up by Br200.2 billion (USD 23.2 million) in January 2013.
