OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2013. Enterprises of domestic dairy industry can fully replace imported goods by its own products. This was started by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during his visit to dairy plant in Kyiv Region.

"We are fully able to replace imported goods by our own," Mykola Azarov noted.

The Head of Government recalled that the Cabinet is finalizing the State Program of activation of the economy for 2013-2014, in which, inter alia, provides for measures to support the dairy and meat industry.

According to the Prime Minister, over the last 20 years, Ukraine has significantly decreased milk production, and therefore we have disparity between the level of purchase prices and profitability of milk production. On the other hand almost all dairy products are socially important food products, and they are subjected to the state regulation of prices.

"Our task is to find a compromise concerning the price of the goods, availability and interest of producers to develop this industry to expand production, build new businesses, factories, and our people to get high-quality products," Mykola Azarov informed.
