OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2013. Aeroflot opened its Hub Control Center in Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow (SVO). This object is unique for Russia’s Civil Aviation and has the primary goal to coordinate transfer connection processes and oversee the flight control at the airport.

Aeroflot specialists at the Hub coordinate and control all the necessary ground and technological activities of the air company in order to secure the minimum connection times (MCT) for transit passengers. Aeroflot Hub Control Center started its operations in a testing regime in December 2012, and since that time the quantity of successfully departed transfer passengers with critical MCT has significantly increased. The labor productivity in the air company has grown as well and the aircraft demurrage period has been shortened.

Aeroflot Hub Control Center activity will contribute greatly to the cost reduction at the air company. For example, MCT decrease for 10 minutes will provide additional USD 10 mln. monthly income for the air carrier.

For the IT support of the Center Aeroflot has opted to use the NetLine/Hub technology developed by Lufthansa Systems, a leading global IT service provider for transport and logistics companies. NetLine/Hub airport management solution will make Aeroflot daily processes at Moscow Sheremetyevo hub even more effective and provide decision-making support in the event of irregularities or critical transfer situations.

Aeroflot Hub Control Centre will strengthen the leading positions of the air company on the market and play its important role in the process of the creation of a modern global hub in Moscow.
