OREANDA-NEWS. Mikhail Kuzovlev, President and Chairman of the Management Board of the Bank of Moscow has taken part in the work of the Moscow Government delegation, headed by city Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, to the XXIV international investment exhibition MIPIM-2013 in Cannes.

Within the scope of the meeting between Mayor Sobyanin and representatives of the international investment community, Mikhail Kuzovlev answered questions about the possibility of foreign banks operating in Russia’s capital. He noted that foreign banks interested in participating in projects in the capital enjoy a number of advantages over Russian banks, such as broad access to financial resources. "During 2012, the Bank of Moscow strengthened its positions in work with municipal enterprises in Moscow, virtually doubling its credit portfolio with respect to such enterprises. Our plans for 2013 are equally ambitious. Yet the capital’s market is capacious enough for all banks wishing to co-operate with the city. The Bank of Moscow is, in turn, prepared to share with investors its experience of financing of infrastructure projects, modernisation of municipal facilities, reconstruction and reorientation of Moscow’s territorial industrial zones", commented Mikhail Kuzovlev. "The Bank is ready to consider possibilities for co-financing of municipal programmes together with investors, promoting their interests in Moscow and acting as a business partner prepared to share project risks".

Mikhail Kuzovlev also spoke at the Moscow Government conference "Investing in a world of opportunities". His speech focused on the role of the Moscow Chamber of Industry and Commerce in promoting implementation of the development plans for Moscow and seeking investment business partners.

The Moscow Chamber of Industry and Commerce plans to develop as a substantial and effective platform for dialogue between businessmen and the Moscow authorities. The Management Board of the Moscow Chamber of Industry and Commerce was recently joined by the heads of major core city enterprises: Moscow Metropoliten, MOSGAZ, Mosvodokanal, MGTS, whose participation will provide a new impetus to the work of the Chamber and allow it to represent the entire business landscape of the Moscow business community.
