PM of Ukraine Calls to Approach Problem of Highways Construction
OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2013. It is a time to approach a problem of the construction of highways comprehensively and systematically. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
"We will find the money for social security, and for the construction of highways that put Ukraine on a par with the developed countries of Europe," the head of government said.
Mykola Azarov instructed vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul to accelerate the creation of a long-term program of building roads with clearly defined priorities, milestones, the current requirements for the class and quality of roads, as well as calculations of resource support for such construction.
The program should include: measures to preserve the existing network by scheduled maintenance, and secondly, higher quality standards of repair and warranty conditions for construction workers, and thirdly, the construction of new roads to the effective use of the transit potential of the country, and fourthly, reform of public sector management. Also, according to Mykola Azarov, we should to separate the functions of design, construction and operation of reception in roads and a monopoly of UkrAvtoDor out of place in this industry.
