Novosibirsk Airport Created Discriminatory Conditions for Air Carriers
OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2013. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Novosibirsk region (Novosibirsk OFAS Russia) found that “Tolmachevo Airport” OJSC violated the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” (Article 10). The case was initiated upon a petition of Vice-Consulate of the Kyrgyz Republic in Novosibirsk.
The Commission of Novosibirsk OFAS Russia carried out a comparative analysis of the rates for aircraft towing, fixed by “Tolmachevo Airport” OJSC for Russian and foreign companies. OFAS found that the costs of services for foreign companies were 40% more that the price fixed for Russian air carriers.
Having investigated the case, Novosibirsk OFAS Russia issued a determination of “Tolmachevo Airport” OJSC to eliminate violations of the antimonopoly law.
“Initiating the case we took into account all airports where Kyrgyz air carriers operate. For instance, in Krasnoyarsk the costs of aircraft towing is the same for both Russian and foreign air carriers. In Yekaterinburg the difference between the costs of services is inconsiderable”, explained Deputy Head of Novosibirsk OFAS Russia, Natalia Kamneva.
